TRENTO. Demonstrations throughout Italy to remember the 3rd of August started today (3rd August) from Naples.Bear Kj1, shot in Trentino and to ask for the protection of wildlife, as well as the safety of citizens. This was announced by the Italian Animalist Party, which – together with the organizing associations Meta of Milan Odv, Terra Dea, Avi and Lac – confirms the protest of Italian animal rights activists for the repeated attacks on wild fauna that are taking place throughout Italy.
“Following the emotion caused by the killing of mother bear Kj1 who, with her cubs, ran into a French tourist and after the culling arranged during the night by the Province of Trento, animal rights activists and others are not having it and are planning protests and demonstrations throughout the summer in various Italian cities,” reads a note.
The Italian Animalist Party has, among other things, presented a reported to the Public Prosecutor’s Officeso that the facts are ascertained, contesting “an unnecessary and cruel killing falling within the provisions of art. 544 bis of the penal code”. “It is necessary to act – the promoters continue – given that, in addition to the life of a mother bear, also the safety of everyone and coexistence with nature is under attack”.
