ORTISEI. In three years, starting from 2025, 8.5 million euros will be made available for the renovation and expansion of the “Cesa di Ladins”, the House of the Ladins in Ortisei. The green light for the capital account financing came from the Trentino-Alto Adige regional council following a proposal from the councilor for linguistic minorities Luca Guglielmi. The investment is distributed as follows: 2 million 830,000 euros in 2025, another 2 million 830,000 euros in 2026 and 2 million 840,000 euros in 2027.
“The Cesa di Ladins is not just a building, but a symbol of the cultural identity of the Ladin community – said Guglielmi – thanks to this financing, it will be possible to equip the structure with new spaces and services, guaranteeing sustainable management and the involvement of Municipalities of Val Gardena”.
The regional council’s decision was preceded by an analysis of the management methods of the structure and the economic sustainability of the intervention. With a note signed by the mayors of Ortisei, Santa Cristina and Selva di Val Gardena, guarantees were provided on the collaboration between the Municipalities and on the fair distribution of management costs.
In addition to expanding the spaces to host cultural and educational activities linked to the Ladin tradition, the project at the Casa dei Ladini aims to create jobs linked to the management of the structure. “The intervention will be made operational with the stipulation of an agreement between the Region and the subjects involved – specified the regional councilor – and aims to consolidate the Cesa di Ladins as a point of reference for the conservation of the language, traditions and cultural heritage of the Ladin community”.
This intervention is part of the actions envisaged by the Regional Law 3/2018which promotes the protection and valorization of linguistic minorities. The funds will be transferred to the Province and the financial commitment will be formalized in the regional budget forecast for the three-year period 2025-2027.
Once the technical documents have been approved, work will begin. “To find the best design solution – the mayor of Ortisei said at the time Tobia Moroder – the Municipality and the interested parties have announced a design competition. Since I took office in 2015, the renovation of the Cësa di Ladins has been a priority for culture. I find this work essential for the protection of the Ladin language, culture and history, among other things by being able to host the museum, the theater and the Union Generela of Ladins in a single building”.
Among the 13 projects that participated in the competition for the renovation of the Casa dei Ladini, a competition coordinated by the architect Igor Comploi, the one proposed by the Rp Architects Stp studio of Rudi Perathoner with Andreas Lengfeld and Pavol Mikolajcak was the winner. The cost of the intervention is around 10.2 million euros.
