The veteran troupe The Maracos has risen with the first prize in the music and lyrics contest that opens the way to carnival 2024 in A Corua. The mayor, Ins Rey, presided over the jury of the contest that was held this Saturday in the gora and in which the groups Malandrainas, Os Maracos, Monte Alto a 100, Amigos da Xoldra, Malandros e Pantalen participated.

All the groups performed, accompanied by their instruments, compositions alluding to current issues marked by good humor and quietness. On the jury, in addition to the mayor, was the historian Xos Alfeirn; the director of the Municipal Music School, Elena Umbra; the musician of the Municipal Band, Francisco Manuel Vecino; the director of the Donaire Cultural Association, Olga Kirk Martínez; the music entrepreneur, Francisco Gmez, Gandyand the IMCE technician, Ana Canosa, who served as secretary.
