Osama Fathi, a chemical engineer, member of the board of directors of the Egyptian Society for Astronomy, has been a fan of astronomy photography for more than 17 years. He tells Al-Masry Al-Youm that it started with him as a result of his love to sit in the evening and take many pictures of the sky at night.
Over time, Osama thought of highlighting the beauty of the sky to other people, saying: “I began to introduce people to the sky more, and show them pictures of it at night, and tell them about it, and make them love it .. I wanted to share the beauty of the sky with others, especially since most people do not They know the method or do not have the special equipment that enables them to take pictures of the sky.”
“Osama” decided to develop himself more and assumed the task of highlighting the beauty of the Egyptian sky to the whole world, adding: “The impact of the pictures will remain and complement, and I will record the moment so that the whole world can see it, and I started with simple cameras, then I started buying equipment for astrophotography, and I learned until I knew how to take good pictures.” ».
“Osama” developed his skills, obtained a master’s degree in the history of astronomy, and became the first person to publish “NASA” his footage of space officially through the so-called (Astronomy Picture of the Day), “NASA’s Astronomy Picture of the Day”, which is a website on the Internet. The Internet is provided and maintained by the Agency and Michigan Technological University.
