Barcelona beat Osasuna 1-0 in the wake of Xavi’s retirement announcement thanks to Vitor Roque’s first goal for the Catalans.
Barcelona needed a goal from Vitor Roque to overcome resistance from Osasuna 1-0 in a postponed matchday 20 of La Liga and try to turn the page after the announcement of Xavi’s retirement.
The Catalans lost Ferran Torres to injury in just the 7th minute, with Fermin taking his place. After a balanced game, without great opportunities and effectiveness in attack, Fermin was also substituted and gave his place to Vitor Roque.
The 18-year-old Brazilian striker came on in the 62nd minute and a minute later scored his “maiden” goal for the “Blaugrana” with a close header, after an assist from Joao Cancelo.
Unai Garcia’s dismissal four minutes later made it even easier for Barcelona, who had more chances to score afterwards, although it remained 1-0.
