The 94th Oscars featured a number of interesting events. Will Smith, who won the Best Actor award, slapped the presenter on stage for badly describing his wife. Best Actress Award winner Jessica Joyton spoke on world politics. The highly anticipated Stephen Spielberg’s The West Side Story received only one award.
Between these something else happened. At the ceremony, Troy Coach was awarded Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the film Koda. He is the second deaf actor to win an Oscar. Marley Martin, who starred in the same film, was the first deaf actor to win an Oscar. He was nominated for an Oscar at the 1987 film Children of Leisure God.
Troy eloquently said that the award is presented to deaf people around the world.
