After winning the women’s doubles at the US Open, Ostapenko climbed 12 places in the doubles rankings to a career-high sixth position. She ranks first with Kichenok in the season section.
Ostapenko also fought with Kichenok in the final doubles tournament of the 2022 season, where she stopped in the semifinals.
Ostapenko played in the US Open doubles final for the first time in her career. Her best result so far was the quarter-final reached in 2019.
In a duet with Kitchenok, the Riga player reached the final of the “Grand Slam” doubles for the first time in her career this season, entering the decisive match of the “Australian Open”.
Ostapenko is also fighting for a chance to participate in the season-ending singles tournament. In 2024, she is currently in 11th position.
The final tournament of the WTA season will take place from November 2 to 9 in Riyadh.
