Major Operation in Östersund – Police Fired Upon
In a shocking incident on Saturday evening, a police patrol in Östersund came under fire. The incident took place at approximately 9pm, and immediately after the shooting, a car chase ensued on E45 northbound as the police pursued one or more perpetrators.
As of Sunday morning, no arrests have been made, and a large-scale operation is currently underway in an area north of the city. Authorities are urging the public to exercise caution and remain vigilant, considering the grave nature of the incident.
Åsa Mjörndal, press spokesperson for the police region north, stated, “We urge people to pay attention and exercise caution. After all, shots have been fired, de facto, at the police.”

Russian Ruble Hits All-Time Low
The Russian ruble has experienced a significant decline in value during the first few months of this year. Now, the currency has hit record low levels, leaving the Russian central bank with no option but to take measures to tackle the economic crisis at hand.
In an effort to combat the crisis, all trading with foreign currencies will be halted until the turn of the year. The situation has worsened to an extent where the ruble has once again reached triple digits in comparison to the US dollar, with one dollar equating to 100 Russian rubles.
The lowest recorded value was documented at the onset of the war when the ruble plummeted to 130 against the dollar.

Young Man Killed in Tragic Accident – Driving in the Wrong Direction
A devastating accident occurred in Varberg during the early hours of Sunday, resulting in the loss of a young man’s life. The man, who was in his 20s, was driving his car in the wrong direction for unknown reasons.
The driver was immediately rushed to the hospital via an ambulance, but unfortunately, he was pronounced dead upon arrival. The police have notified the victim’s relatives about the tragic incident.
