It is the picture of destruction that has emerged since the flood disaster at the Oderwiese football stadium in Poland. The meadow was almost deep in water, the gates were damaged and the tower windows were broken.
“The club has just renovated the changing rooms and pitch a few months ago. Now everything is ruined by water,” said Nicole Bartylla, secretary and board member of OSV Rastatt.
Almost all members come from disaster areas.

OSV wants to support LSZ Zywocice (German: Oderwiese Football Club) in rebuilding with a fundraising campaign. Bartylla emphasized that “The renovation work is expensive for the club, so they could use all the help now.
After heavy rains in the past two weeks, flooding and flooding occurred in parts of the Czech Republic, Austria and Poland.
Silesia and Opole are among the most affected regions. OSV Rastatt is collecting donations in kind for flood victims in the Czech-Polish border area.
The Rastatter Verein is planning a fundraiser on Sunday
The chairman of the OSV festival committee explained: “My brother knew about the bad situation in the football team, and he contacted us. Even more than a week after the storm disaster, the state of emergency is still there.
The soccer and football club rooms also flooded, Bartylla said. “The water there is slowly receding.”

Through a call on social media, OSV Rastatt has been able to collect around 500 euros for the Polish team. His younger brother will travel to the Oderwiese in October and personally hand over the donated money to the club. “We’re hoping that maybe a little bit of money will come together by then,” Bartylla said.
On Sunday, September 29th, the Rastatter Verein is planning a gift day at the sports field in Wintersdorf from 3 pm. In addition to money, people can also donate warm clothes, hygiene products or other materials for flood victims in Silesia.
“We have received some gifts in kind. For example, warm sweaters or jackets, bed linen, towels and soap,” said the organizer of the campaign. “We are very grateful for that.”
After moving to Wintersdorf: OSV is currently facing financial problems itself
Donations in kind will be delivered to Caritas in Opole by Berhard Burek, owner of the B&B Express company and OSV sponsor, and from there further to the Polish-Czech border area.
The group collected donations for the victims of the Oder flood in 1997. “The OSV only moved to the sports grounds in Wintersdorf in July and is therefore currently in financial difficulties. “We also want to support people in need and to contribute something,” emphasized Nicole Bartylla.
“Almost all the members come from disaster areas,” explains Gisela Beer, a long-time member of the OSV. Beer had already helped with a fundraising campaign in 1997. “So it’s really important for us to support the people there,” he stressed.
