Tanimoto was completing his first year on the JSB1000 after having competed in the Stock 1000 category last year. In the past, he achieved outstanding successes in the 250 category of the Japanese speed championship and was close to passing the selection tests for the Asia Talent Cup, the best platform for Asian riders to access the Motorcycle World Championship.
Just a few weeks ago Tanimoto also participated in the Suzuka 8 Hours on the Honda of the Goshi Racing team, forming a trio with Reitoku Kurogi and Yuto Tajiri, with whom he achieved a final position of 37th.
