Ottawa paralyzed by no-vax and now the government assesses a state of emergency

Time.news – The Canadian police released the blocks that had been blocking access to the Ambassador International Bridge for a week, the main border crossing between Canada and the United States. But the capital Ottawa remains paralyzed by no-vax protests and there are now signs that the government may be using hard ways.

“Too much is too much,” said Emergency Preparedness Minister Bill Blair. “All this must stop. The situation in Ottawa is unacceptable and intolerable, the police must restore public order and restore security to the city.”

The Canadian government is in fact evaluating the possibility of resorting to the use of emergency powers, which have never been used in the last half century and which could mean the armed forces on the streets of the country. Blair stated that the government is ready to adopt the measure, unused since a Quebec terrorist group, in 1970, kidnapped the deputy prime minister and a British diplomat, because – Blair explained – the protests “threaten Canada” and Canadians.
