Ottogi announced on the 6th that it has launched two types of easy-to-make soups that can be prepared by simply adding hot water.

As the number of consumers looking for convenient soups in the HMR (Home Meal Replacement) market increases, Ottogi appears to have expanded its existing convenient soup lineup.

The newly launched product is said to be characterized by minimizing loss of taste and nutrition by applying freeze-drying process to egg soup and seaweed soup. The soup is completed by pouring hot water over the contents and waiting for 1 minute.

‘Easy Egg Soup’ is said to have a mild and light taste with eggs and green onions added to anchovy broth. ‘Easy Maesaengi Soup’, made by drying Wando maesaengi so that it can be enjoyed all year round, is made with maesaengi in anchovy broth. It is individually packaged for one serving, making it easy to store and carry, and is also highly useful for outdoor activities such as camping or traveling. It is not spicy, so it is suitable as a quick meal for babies, and it seems that it will be easy to enter overseas markets.

With the launch of these two new products, Ottogi’s lineup of convenient soups has expanded to a total of nine products: egg soup, spicy fish soup, miso soybean paste soup, dried radish soybean paste soup, seaweed soup, dried pollack soup, mushroom hangover soup, chicken gomtang, and beef bone stew.

An Ottogi official said, “Amid the rapidly rising cost of eating out and the expansion of the convenience food market, we took into consideration the Korean food culture of having soup with meals and launched two types of simple soups with a light taste.” He added, “We hope you enjoy a hearty meal with our simple soups that you can easily enjoy without the hassle of cooking.”
