Ouagadougou: Students prosecuted for endangering the lives of others

Ouagadougou, Jan. 27, 2024 (AIB) – The Ouagadougou High Court opened on Saturday the trial of six students accused of having endangered the lives of their classmates, in their desire to disrupt classes in December 2023.

For more than two decades, students have regularly organized strikes in December to demand justice for journalist Norbert Zongo and student Flavien Nebié.

This year, security forces arrested six suspected troublemakers who disrupted classes in certain establishments.

Four appeared freely this Saturday, January 27, 2024 at the TGI of Ouaga I plus the two others who were detained.

“Endangering students and their entourage for possession of tear gas grenades” is the main charge against them.

The use of a tear gas bomb by one of them caused injuries in an establishment.
