Sam and Jake first met in 2019 at Santa Monica Studio, where they had the opportunity to develop God of War Ragnarök, and their shared passions quickly became close friends.

Jake died in 2020 of epilepsy.
Before leaving, there’s a moment where Sam and Jake talk about wanting to add some symbols. to represent their love within the game and can be summed up in the shape of a heart Their initials are engraved in the center in runes (J = Jari/Jake , S = Somr/Sam).
Though Sam remains always and forever grieved by what happened, he continues to develop God of War Ragnarök, hoping to leave a part of Jake in it, which his supervisor helped with. to the fullest than expected a lot until becoming a quest Across the Realms as seen in the game
A quest that tells the story of two men. That meeting in the middle of a harsh world is the message that Sam wants to wish everyone to meet the right person. A person who is like a warm home Always waiting for you to come back Even if people around you don’t understand you.
