Chittagong Hill Tracts Adviser Supradeep Chakma said that the people of the hill region are very hardworking and liberal. The mountainous region consisting of Rangamati, Khagrachari and Bandarban districts covers about one-tenth of the natural beauty of Bangladesh. It is home to 11 ethnic groups and Bengali communities. The Chittagong Hill Tracts are no longer inaccessible. Chittagong Hill Tracts are now an attractive tourist destination. The Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs and its other organizations are working tirelessly to continue the journey of peace, harmony, development and progress in the lives of all, including the various linguistic minority groups here.
A 5-member delegation led by US Embassy in Dhaka Chargé d’Affaires Ms. Helen Lafave discussed with Advisor Supradeep Chakma on the development and bilateral issues of the Chittagong Hill Tracts Region in the office room of the Advisor to the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts on Monday (September 23) in Dhaka. Supradeep Chakma, Advisor to the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts Affairs, said that this country is the country of all citizens. He also said that the interim government has been formed to make the society non-discriminatory. We are all living together on the basis of equality and equality.
Adviser Supradeep Chakma said, the United States has always stood by our people of Bangladesh. The United States is giving money and helping Bangladesh in various ways. On behalf of the Interim Government, we sincerely thank the United States for this.
The advisor said, we want to strengthen the wheels of Bangladesh’s economy. In continuation of this, the current government is working to improve the quality of life of the people of the hilly areas in all areas including environmental protection, eco-tourism development, education, health and employment growth.
He also said, building confidence among all is our main task. We are working to build a country based on justice for all. We are giving more importance to education. Through digitization, the quality of education of all the students in the hilly regions will be enhanced, various projects are underway for the overall improvement of the quality of life of the people living in the hilly regions. The program of delivering various government services to remote areas is ongoing. In this regard, the Charge d’Affaires in the United States emphasized on working on new areas of cooperation between Bangladesh and the United States.
He expressed the opinion that there is scope for more work between the two countries in the areas of good governance, tourism, co-development, increasing peace and order in the hills, increasing the quality of education, climate change, women empowerment etc.
