CRITIQUES – From Gainsbourg to Beyoncé via the singers of Montmartre, the song invites itself on the boards.

A “slap” of devastating humor

We are in 1895. Auguste Levasseur (Fred Radix) famous “cheerleader” finds himself precisely without his slap: a group of people responsible for applauding the show and thus guaranteeing its success. Normally, the piece is given with great fanfare, with strong performers, a large choir, a large orchestra and thirty changes of scenery. The unlikely story sees a poor fisherman embarked on an incredible adventure. Deprived of his troupe, Auguste Levasseur finds himself forced to recruit the public to play the “clickers” as well as the manager Dugommier (Guillaume Collignon) and his sister Fauvette (Alice Noureux).

Benevolent, Fred Radix, “coach” the room, strumming his banjo if necessary. She plays the game with childlike pleasure waiting for her cue to clap her hands.
