Forced to give up his third mandate and prevented from remaining at the head of Senegal by trickery, President Macky Sall had no other choice than to organize the presidential election, yesterday Sunday March 24, 2024, at the following which one of the lieutenants of the famous and uncompromising enlightened leader Ousmane Sonko by the name of Bassirou Diomaye Faye cheerfully imposed himself on the candidate of the outgoing President. He is well ahead.
No one can stop the wind of change. Certainly, the outgoing Macky Sall succeeded in removing Ousmane Sonko from the Presidency of the Republic of Senegal, at least for this presidential election. However, his dream of seeing his successor come from his camp is also about to be stifled by the Pastef coalition “African Patriots of Senegal for Work” of the one whose name now resonates in the annals of history of African politics. As a very good strategist, Sonko having assessed the extent of the outgoing Macky Sall’s relentlessness against him, changed his mind, banking on one of his lieutenants. Macky Sall didn’t see this coming.
Indeed, unjustly incarcerated then removed from the electoral list, before being reinstated and released with his lieutenant Diomaye, rather than clinging to his position to say “If it’s not me, it’s me”, Sonko has set his sights on one of his lieutenants to come and give the dirty camp a good beating. Hey, my apologies! I meant Sall camp.
The Leader of Pastef was not mistaken; He bet on the right horse, because his choice is on the way to becoming today the fifth President of the country of Teranga despite his less extensive address book and his less evocative administrative and political career.
Ousmane Sonko has just proven that it is not necessarily the person of the leader that counts. Faced with the impossible, the leader must have the capacity and intelligence to propel others to achieve the common goal. He has just taught a great lesson to the cradle of humanity. Good luck to the probable future President of Senegal, Mr. Bassirou Diomaye Faye and congratulations to the Senegalese people for the discipline which characterized the voting process.
