As they had revealed in the past Attack’s shapes in STHEthe STHE Aerospace Science and Technology department (founded with N. Gavroglou during SYRIZA) works directly with the multinational arms company Lockheed Martin. This particular company is a multinational arms giant, closely linked to Israel, supplying it with the most advanced weapons for the purposes of the genocide it carries out in Palestine. Furthermore, this particular company is a systematic supplier of weapons systems in the USA, but also in all NATO countries, that is, in Greece as well. All this makes the multinational in question at the heart of the war in Ukraine, in Palestine and in general in any war and non-war competition that exists in the world, as it actively participates in triggering them even through arms marathons as is the case with our own country, with next station the supply of 20 F-35 of 3.5 billion euros.
Yesterday, 8/28/24, the STHE Aerospace Science and Technology Department meeting discussed the sponsorship agreement between Lockheed Martin and EKPA for the Aerospace Department student scholarship program. It is the first time that a department of a Greek university has been asked to approve a scholarship program from this multinational of the war(!). These scholarships are not Lockheed Martin’s “philanthropy” to promote science, but they are a PURCHASE of young minds that will design the destructive and murderous weapons of the future, as is the case in other universities with NATO research programs.
We do not accept that our minds, our ideas, our plans are used to kill people on the other side of the world. We become scientists to help society, not to step on corpses for a handful of ECTS or a few bloody dollars. We know very well that the war may be in Palestine and Ukraine right now, but given our country’s involvement, it doesn’t take much for us to become a target. We are inspired by the American and international student movement that in many universities blocked war research programs and sent a message of dignity throughout the world, against the business university and the anti-social research it produces for profit and war.
We make it clear that whatever decision is made at the Department meeting, we are not going to allow the existence of murderers in our schools! The universities we study in will not cooperate with the murderous state, nor with warmongering arms dealers.
The deanery of STHE and dean Emmanuel have a huge responsibility and they will find us against them in the crime they are conducting! Anyone who joins the murderers, and indeed on the backs of their students, will be dealt with accordingly.
