The season 7 It starts next Tuesday. Blizzard will present a new crossover game mode with Sanctuary Trials, the Halloween Terror 2023 event, and a new control map on the tropical island of Samoa. They’ll also be introducing a huge balance update, including a revamped skill set for Sombraplus map changes Ruta 66! Read on to find out what we have in store with Overwatch 2 Darkness Rise.
Fight Moira Lilith in Trials of Sanctuary!
The first crossover game mode BlizzardLaunching as part of the Halloween Horror event, you’ll battle the demons of the Burning Hells in an all-new cooperative survival fight: Trials of Sanctuary. Step into the shoes of one of six heroes: Demon Slayer Shadow, Zarya Barbara, Illari Nightraven, Lifeweaver Cleric, Reinhardt Imperius, and Pharah Inarius, and face an onslaught of relentless forces in a fierce battle for survival. Throughout your adventure, you will have to fight against difficult bosses to defeat, such as Wrecking Ball Azmodán, Roadhog Butcher and the Blessed Mother herself: Moira Lilith.
Halloween Horror modes are back to terrify us all once again!
Along with Trials of Sanctuary, they return Junkenstein’s Revenge and Bride’s Fury, the most popular event modes. Take on new challenges and earn more Battle Pass XP, Overwatch Credits, and a variety of terrifying cosmetic items. Enjoy this spooky celebration, which will take place between October 10 and November 1.

For the first time, you’ll be able to spend your credits to unlock Overwatch 2 heroes: Sojourn, Junker Queen, Kiriko, Ramattra, and Lifeweaver. Fight on the new Samoa map!
This season, Overwatch 2 will feature one of the most complex battlefields to date. Samoa is a new control map in which you will fight on tropical beaches, villages… and even inside a volcano! Be careful of the deadly traps or you could end up swimming in lava! Samoa will be available to play immediately on a special Arcade card and will appear in Quick Play and other unranked modes startingOctober 10while it will be available in Competitive Play later in the season.

This season’s Battle Pass will take you down a dark and spooky path, with themed cosmetic items that will leave your rivals and teammates trembling in fear. Everyone will be able to get their hands on new epic skins, like Lúcio Victorian Ghost and Soldier: 76 Crimson Clown. By unlocking the Premium Battle Pass, you can earn terrifying legendary skins, including Wrecking Ball Azmondan, Echo Victorian Doll, and Diesel Baron Ramattra. If you manage to beat 80 levels, you will get the mythical Hanzo Onryō skin.
Also available in this season’s final Battle Pass bundle are the legendary Moira Lilith and Pharah Inarius skins, along with a new pumpkin spice-themed epic skin for Bastion (yes, you read that right!) and a perk for Earn other bewitching cosmetic items with 1,000 Overwatch Coins and 20 level jumps. Get ready to see more terrifying surprises in the in-game Premium Store in the coming weeks.
Hack the planet with Sombra’s new set of skills!
Overwatch 2 Season 7: Rise of the Dark features tons of new balance changes, but most importantly, a new skill set for Sombra. Removed Opportunist and adjusted the Stealth skill to be a passive that activates automatically when Shadow does not take damage, deal damage, or use abilities. Her Translocator has also been modified to instantly teleport her to wherever she throws it. Lastly, Sombra has a new ability: Virus, which is a precision ability that deals damage over time to the target it hits, dealing double damage at a faster rate if the target is already hacked. For all this, along with the adjustment of her Submachine Gun, Hacking and EMP, you will be more eager to play with her and against her.
Blizzard’s goal is for Sombra to become more committed to the objectives she faces and for her skills to be a little more active, without losing her identity and playing style as the best hacker in the world.
Travel the new Route 66!
Route 66, one of the original Overwatch Escort maps, will receive some adjustments in order to provide more protection for attackers when leaving their initial spawn point. Despite the hanging carriages blocking the view, the Panorama restaurant is pleased to announce that it is open to the public and offers additional cover, whether from the scorching sun or the hail of gunfire from the defending team. When you push the cargo past the first checkpoint, the doors will now malfunction and only partially close, giving attackers a few more options to get through the tricky narrow passages. Defenders will have more options to prevent attacking teams from passing the last checkpoint, as part of the Deadlock gang’s lair cargo will now cease to exist. You’ll also be able to cool off a bit with the map’s new cloudy-tinged lighting. We can’t wait for them to hit the new Route 66 with the load!
