Precisely on May 9, 2021, at 11 a.m., when his heart stopped for fifty-three minutes: this father of four collapsed after an intense two-hour session of road cycling. His luck?
Three cyclists – two gendarmes and a doctor – followed him closely. A cardiac massage saved his life, until the arrival of the Samu, forty-four minutes later. “The irrigation of my brain has in fact never stopped”he explains.
Heart surgery and plunged into a coma
What followed, for this practicing Catholic, was like a miracle. Transported to the Corbeil-Essonnes hospital, he was immediately operated on for his heart and plunged into a coma from which he woke up, alone, five days later.
