Los Angeles, CA – The owner of the winning ticket for Wednesday night’s Powerball drawing worth $1.08 billion has yet to come forward, leaving many in anticipation. The ticket was sold at Las Palmitas Mini Market, a convenience store located in downtown Los Angeles, according to the California Lottery. The store will receive nearly $1 million for selling the winning ticket.

The winning numbers for the Powerball jackpot were 7, 13, 10, 24, 11, with the Powerball number being 24. The lucky ticket holder now faces the decision of either receiving the full prize amount in installments over 30 years or taking a lump-sum payment of $558.1 million, both amounts before taxes, as stated by Powerball.

This latest prize ranks as the sixth-largest US lottery jackpot and the third-largest Powerball jackpot in history. It falls behind the world record $2.04 billion Powerball jackpot won in California last year and the $1.586 billion Powerball jackpot won in 2016. The lottery authorities reported these impressive figures.

Nabor Herrera, the owner of Las Palmitas Mini Market, received an unexpected surprise when he discovered that his store had sold the winning ticket. He plans to use the nearly $1 million bonus awarded to him to take his wife and four children on vacation. Herrera mentioned that three of his customers bought a significant number of tickets, and he hopes that the winner is part of his regular clientele. He also expressed his excitement about checking his own two tickets that he purchased.

Despite the single winning ticket for the jackpot, Powerball advises players to check their tickets as there are numerous prizes at stake. In addition to the jackpot winner, 36 tickets sold across 16 states matched all five white balls, winning $1 million prizes in most states. Seven of these tickets were sold in California, each worth $448,750. California’s non-jackpot prizes vary depending on the number of winners and ticket sales.

The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are 1 in 292.2 million, according to the official Powerball website. Wednesday’s win marked the end of a 38-drawing streak without a jackpot winner since the last grand prize worth $252.6 million was won in Ohio on April 19.

Drew Svitko, Powerball Product Group Chair and Pennsylvania Lottery Executive Director, congratulated the latest jackpot winner and the California Lottery, highlighting how Powerball has brought people together to dream big and raised billions of dollars for good causes supported by lotteries.

As the $1.08 billion Powerball prize remains unclaimed, many hopefuls are turning their attention to the next big lottery drawing. The Mega Millions jackpot on Friday is estimated to be $720 million, with a cash value of $369.6 million, offering another opportunity for instant riches.

With the excitement and anticipation building, everyone awaits the revelation of the lucky Powerball winner and wonders what their decision will be.
