After two years in the Maccabi Tel Aviv uniform, Oz Blazer moved tonight (Sunday) to its big rival, Hapoel Jerusalem, and signed a two-year contract. In this way, Alexander Dzikic’s team registers a significant strengthening with the signing of one of the top Israeli players in the league. Blazer also held the offer from state champion Hapoel Holon, but preferred to join a team from the capital.
During his tenure in the yellow uniform, the 29-year-old forward won the championship, the state cup and twice the Winner’s Cup with them. Blazer won at times considerable credit from Yannis Sapropoulos, probably in relation to the expectations with which he came to Maccabi Tel Aviv. But last season his ability weakened, similar to the ability of the entire team, which finished the season without a title.
He started his career in Israeli basketball at Hapoel Afula, in the media he played in the national league. He then moved to Bnei Herzliya in 2013, playing in the media for two years until he moved to Maccabi Haifa. After three seasons in the green, Blazer moved to Maccabi Rishon Lezion, from where he came to Maccabi Tel Aviv.
