Karur: The BJP has filed a petition with the theater manager in Karur against the screening of a film starring actor Surya.

Actor Surya starrer ‘Etharkum Thuninthavan’ has been released across Tamil Nadu today. Arrangements are underway to screen in four theaters in Karur, including Ajanta. In this context, yesterday morning, the BJP and Vanniyar Sangam executives, including Karur West district BJP secretary Prem Nath, filed a petition with Ajanta Theater manager Palanisamy not to screen Surya starrer ‘Anything Dare’. Later, Western District BJP secretary Bremnath told reporters, “In the Jaybeam film, the Vanniyar community and the former leader of the Vanniyar Sangam, Guru, were set on fire. Thus, a request was made on behalf of the BJP and the Vanniyar Sangam that actor Surya should apologize. But, Surya has not apologized yet. Thus, the film ‘Anything Dare’ should not be screened in any theater in Karur district. The protest will be held in front of the theaters where the film will be screened, by the BJP and the Vanniyar Sangam, ” he said.
