South Indian director Pa Ranjith is making his Bollywood debut. She made her film debut in 2018 with ‘Birsa’. The film is a biography of freedom fighter Birsa Munda. Parenjith told PTI that the film, which will be produced by Shareen Mantri and Kishore Arora under the banner of Namah Pictures, could start later this year. The film world is waiting for Parenjith’s Bollywood movie.

The film is based on the book ‘Aranyer Adhikar’ written by Mahashweta Devi about Birsa Munda. Birsa Munda was a tribal leader from Jharkhand who fought against British rule in the history of the freedom struggle. But even as the country celebrated independence, he spoke out for his marginalized people. ‘Birsa’ is expected to speak for a dalit who is still fighting for justice in independent India.

All of Ranjith’s directorial ventures were brilliant ideas. From ‘Attakkathi’ to the latest ‘Sarpetta Series’, he has been promoting dalit politics and Ambedkarism. Pa Ranjith also produces films for debutants under the banner of Neelam Productions. The most notable of these is ‘Pariyerum Perumal’ which was released in 2018.
