The local Security Secretary, Pablo Vazquez, celebrated the announcement of Rosa Icela Rodriguez and Omar Garcia Harfuch as the next Secretary of the Interior and future Secretary of Security and Citizen Protection.
Through social media, the Chief of Police congratulated García Harfuch for his announcement as a future member of the federal cabinet, by President-elect Claudia Sheinbaum.

“Her experience, honesty and professionalism will be key to the success of the strategies led by Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum,” he wrote.
Additionally, Vázquez Camacho extended his congratulations to the leader of Morena, Mario Delgado, and to Ariadna Montiel, for their integration into the next federal cabinet. “Without a doubt, they will do an exceptional job at the head of the institutions that they will be in charge of,” he wrote.

In September 2023, Pablo Vázquez Camacho was announced as the new Secretary of Citizen Security, replacing Omar García Harfuch, who resigned from the agency in search of his candidacy for the head of government.

After nine months in office, Vázquez Camacho was confirmed by the elected head of government, Clara Brugada, as the first member of the next local cabinet.
Speaking to 24 Horas, the police chief said he was “very honoured and very grateful” for the invitation.
“I am very honored and very grateful for what this means, in terms of recognition for the team at the Secretariat of Citizen Security,” he said.
