Likewise, Dace Bargās and Edgars Jaunups will continue to work in the Riga office of the deputy. Both work on Ijab’s public relations and communications issues. Bargā is also responsible for the content of social network platforms and organization of events, as well as the Riga agenda of the deputy. Jaunups provides Ijab with legal advice and advises on political strategy decisions.

On the other hand, in Brussels, Kārlis Ralfs Lapiņš will continue working as an advisor in Ijab’s office, while Miks Strazdiņš will join the team in September. Employees in the EP office will work both on Ijab’s Brussels agenda and current draft laws, as well as on various other daily duties of the European Parliament office.

Ijab’s priority in the EP will be the security and defense of the region, which means a series of practical challenges for Latvia, which also require European support.

In the MP’s opinion, work on the growth of the EU and Latvia’s economy should be continued, the single market should be strengthened, and our science and innovations should be supported.

“One of my tasks for the coming years is the creation of wider and smarter cooperation between the EU member states in science, education and health. To achieve the set goals, I have created a reliable and strong team of professionals,” says Ijab, adding that in this convocation, three current employees continue to work in the office and two new colleagues also join.

As reported, in the new EP convocation, Ijab will continue to work in the Internal Market and Consumer Protection Committee, the Economic and Monetary Committee and the Industry, Research and Energy Committee. Ijab was also elected as the vice-president of his political group “Renew Europe”.
