18 warships from 12 countries including India, USA, Australia, Canada, New Zealand and Singapore are participating in this event which is still going on today. The US and France have also sent fighter jets.

China did not participate

For the first time in the past 20 years, South Korea has participated in this international maritime exercise conducted by Japan. This shows that relations between the two countries, which had been strained by the effects of the war, have begun to improve.

However, China did not participate in this exercise. At the same time, China is participating in the Western Pacific Regional Naval Conference in Yokohama today and tomorrow. Naval officers from around 30 countries are expected to participate.
