Baghdad / Obelisk Event: Monitoring and Analysis: A series of systematic attacks (paid for) targeting the Ministry of Communications several months ago, which began with a number of measures aimed at reforming the communications sector.
The first of these measures is to reduce the prices of mobile phone cards and impose a new policy on the processing companies to improve the quality of Internet service, which did not correspond to the interests of some parties.
The Ministry continued to implement its policy aimed at breaking monopoly and opening the door to fair competition between companies, as well as introducing major international companies in the field of communications and technology.
Once again, the voices came with the decision of the opinion committee in the ministry to allow the introduction of Internet service through space, especially after recent discussions with international companies (One Web, Amazon) to provide Iraq with this service.
These steady steps that embody the ministry’s policy to advance the reality of communications in Iraq did not satisfy those who found themselves far from providing service to the citizen.
