Painful spots on the face

by time news

The GP refers an 80-year-old woman to a dermatologist because she has had a very painful skin lesion on the right half of the face for nine months after a herpes-zoster infection that the GP treated with valaciclovir and fusidine ointment because of secondary impetiginisation.

The wounds disappeared six months ago, but the woman continued to suffer from pain, itching and a skin abnormality.
