Research carried out by Procon Municipal, between the 22nd and 24th, found a variation of 203.38% in the prices of analgesic drugs (for pain) sold in pharmacies in Campo Grande.

Before taking to the streets, the Campo Grande Municipal Procon collected information on the prices of the ten best-selling painkillers in pills in Brazil, according to a survey carried out in 2022 by Close-Up International. They are: Neosaldina, Engov, Novalgina, Lisador, Doralgina, Sonrisal, Doril, Toragesic, Dipyrone and Tylenol.

The researchers went to 14 establishments in the Capital. Sonrisal (with 2 pills) is the medicine that has the most variation in value, costing R$ 2.37 in the establishment that charges the cheapest and R$ 7.19 where the highest value is charged.

A box of Doralgina with 20 pills varies in price by 136.22% from one establishment to another, costing from R$ 11.90 to R$ 28.11. On the other hand, 20 pills of Dipirona 500mg can cost from R$ 3.05 to R$ 7.00, a variation of 129.51%.

Another product listed, the 20-tablet Doril, can cost up to 111.71% more depending on the pharmacy – from R$16.91 to R$35.80.

“The orientation is for consumers to do research before buying their medicines, as they will be able to find specific promotions in commercial establishments”, highlights the Undersecretary for Consumer Protection and Defense, José Costa Neto.

In Brazil, painkillers can be sold without a prescription. Even so, Procon warns that consumers do not exceed the maximum daily doses prescribed in the leaflet.
