Paju City, COVID-19 Resurgence Emergency Inspection and Rapid Response

by times news cr

As concerns about a resurgence of COVID-19 grow, Paju Mayor Kim Kyung-il has ordered an urgent review of the situation and the preparation of thorough measures.

The most common symptoms of corona are fever, chills, and sore throat, and these symptoms are usually mild and appear gradually. Most patients recover without special treatment, but some people, such as the elderly, those with underlying diseases, and those with weakened immune systems, are likely to develop severe symptoms.

Accordingly, Paju City distributed 16,000 KF94 masks and 487 hand sanitizers and disinfectants to vulnerable groups such as senior centers to prevent severe progression.

The city plans to hold a meeting of the Infectious Disease Crisis Management Council within this month to closely cooperate with the Paju City Medical Association and Pharmaceutical Association and respond to changes in the COVID-19 situation.

Vaccinations are also scheduled to begin in October. COVID-19 vaccinations can be received at 136 contracted medical institutions, and those aged 65 or older, immunocompromised individuals, and those hospitalized or admitted to facilities vulnerable to infection can receive the vaccination for free.

The 198 COVID-19 treatment prescription agencies and 43 compounding agencies are posted on the Paju City website. We will continue to request the Korea Disease Control and Prevention Agency for any shortages of treatment to alleviate inconveniences for citizens.

In the meantime, Paju City has been visiting infection-vulnerable facilities such as nursing hospitals, nursing homes, and day and night care facilities to provide customized consultations, consulting, and infection control education for workers for the prevention of infectious diseases. In addition, it is lending handwashing education equipment (Viewbox) to schools and welfare facilities to provide cough etiquette education, guidance on infectious diseases appropriate for the location, and to promote proper handwashing education.

In order to prevent respiratory infections such as COVID-19, it is necessary to follow the following preventive measures: ▲practicing cough etiquette ▲making proper hand washing a part of daily life ▲avoiding touching your eyes, nose, or mouth with unwashed hands ▲ventilating indoors frequently ▲visiting a medical institution for treatment when experiencing fever or respiratory symptoms.

Mayor Kim Kyung-il of Paju said, “We will respond quickly so that citizens can spend the summer season healthy and safe without worrying about the resurgence of COVID-19,” and “Patients suspected of having respiratory infections should follow the infectious disease prevention guidelines such as wearing masks, washing hands, and coughing etiquette.”
