Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan spoke by telephone with Sri Lankan President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa.

Priyantha Kumara Diyavathana (age 40) from Sri Lanka. He worked as a general manager in a company in the Sialkot district of Pakistan. He tore down a Tehreek-e-Labik religious propaganda poster pasted near his office wall without permission.

Following the revelation, the group beat Priyantha to death and set her on fire. About 100 people have been arrested in connection with the case.

In this context, the Sri Lankan Parliament passed a resolution condemning the killing of Priyantha with the support of all party MPs. The resolution also called for talks on ensuring the safety of Sri Lankans living in Pakistan.

In this context, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan telephoned Sri Lankan President Gotabhaya Rajapaksa to explain the steps taken by the Government of Pakistan in the case of the torture and murder of Priyantha.

Imran Khan has said that 113 people have been arrested so far and that security forces have seized and examined all the videos related to the incident, according to the Pakistani Prime Minister’s Office.
