Aamir Liaquat, 49, a prominent Pakistani television presenter and former Tahririk Insaf MP, has been found dead. Liaquat, who was found dead at home, was rushed to hospital but died later.

On Wednesday night, Liaquat felt unwell but refused to go to the hospital. According to Pakistani national media, his employee Javed said he heard a scream from Liaquat’s room on Thursday morning. Hussein’s house staff reportedly broke down the door and entered the room after receiving no response.

Aamir Liaquat first entered the assembly in 2002. He was a representative of the MQM party at the time and served as Minister of Religious Affairs in the Shaukat Aziz Cabinet in 2004.
