by time news

Islamabad: It has been reported that a social solution has been found to the issue of fencing on the Pakistan-Afghanistan border.
Our neighbor Pakistan shares 2,600 km of border with Afghanistan. Pakistan has been fencing off the Afghan border since 2017 to prevent terrorist infiltration and smuggling, as well as the construction of border checkpoints and surveillance towers.
Pak., Afghans have been opposed to the border fencing project since its inception. Recently, the Taliban in Afghanistan threatened to halt work on the border and remove the barbed wire fence erected by Pakistan on the border. This caused tension on both sides after the fencing work in Pakistan was halted.
A senior Pakistani military official said talks were being held between Afghan and Afghan military officials to defuse tensions over the border fence. The two sides have decided to talk smoothly and find a solution, he said.
Meanwhile, Taliban Defense Minister Mullah Yaqub visited the troubled border area. He said, “The issue of border fencing has been resolved peacefully.”
