(24News) Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch has said that Pakistan and Turkmenistan have agreed to expand bilateral trade, investment, energy cooperation, contacts and public relations.

Foreign Office spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said during the weekly briefing that Turkmenistan’s Foreign Minister Rashid Miredov visited Pakistan from 22 to 25 July 2024. Met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, he also had a detailed discussion with Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.

Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said that the two ministers jointly chaired the third round of Pakistan-Turkmenistan bilateral political consultations, the agenda of the talks included discussions on bilateral trade, investment, energy cooperation, communication and public relations.

The spokesperson of the Foreign Office said that the two sides agreed to increase high-level talks and exchanges, the two leaders agreed to increase cooperation in political, economic and defense cooperation, during the meeting, TAPI pipeline and TAP electricity transmission. Important connectivity projects including the line were also discussed while global and regional developments including the situation in Afghanistan and Occupied Jammu and Kashmir were also discussed.
