Islamabad: It is no secret that Pakistan and China are exploiting Balochistan together. Meanwhile, the Baloch Yakjehti Committee (BYC) has warned Pakistan and China. The committee has issued a statement titled ‘Imperial Megaprojects and Our National Survival’ and strongly condemned the exploitation of Balochistan’s resources by Pakistan and China. In its statement, the committee highlighted the oppression that has been going on in Balochistan for decades. It compared the plight of Balochistan to a typical imperial colony. It lamented that despite being the rightful heirs of their land for centuries, the Baloch people are living as refugees on their own land. They are facing severe restrictions and threats. The statement also spoke about the methods used to genocide the Baloch people. It said that the Baloch are subjected to forced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, forced displacement and abuse in military operations.
There is displeasure with China-Pakistan
The committee’s complaints are based on the Gwadar port, which is a major hub of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor. The complaint said that local fishermen are losing their livelihood. The area has become a militarized zone, due to which residents have to face harassment at check points every day. BYC argued that Pakistan prioritizes Balochistan’s land and resources over the welfare of its people. Mega projects like CPEC exploit the Baloch population instead of benefiting them.
Baloch will be against China-Pakistan
The committee alleges that the Baloch community is being constantly harassed, due to which the entire region has turned into a security-run prison. This has seriously deteriorated their quality of life. Warning Pakistan, it was said, ‘Now we Baloch people will not remain silent against the Baloch genocide and our exploitation.’ It has been announced to start a movement against the exploitation of the Baloch. That is, now the Baloch will fight against both China and Pakistan. According to the statement, the committee said that genocide will not be tolerated by Pakistan and other countries involved in the Baloch genocide.
