Islamabad: Pakistani Home Minister Mohsin Naqvi claimed that the recent terrorist attacks in Balochistan were planned to ruin the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) summit to be held in Pakistan. Naqvi said this while speaking in the Senate on Friday. While explaining the situation in Balochistan in the upper house of the Pakistani Parliament, he said that the government is committed to deal with the elements who take up arms against the country. However, he clarified that no operation is going on. During this, the Pakistani Home Minister targeted India without naming it and said that there are many people who are upset with the organization of the SCO summit.

India on Naqvi’s target?

Pakistan will host the two-day SCO summit in Islamabad on October 15 and 16. Islamabad has also invited Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the summit despite long-standing tensions. “We have got clear links which show who is behind this. They (terrorists) had planned to ruin the SCO summit. We are holding it in October and many people are upset that this should not happen,” Naqvi told the House. He stressed that the August 26 attack was a conspiracy against the summit.

There was a big attack in Balochistan

In the latest incident of violence, on Sunday night, rebels of the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA), demanding independence for Balochistan, carried out several attacks in the province, in which at least 50 people, including 14 security forces, were killed. Home Minister Naqvi also said that the attack in Balochistan was not planned by just one organization, but terrorist organizations carried it out together. He said that it was not an ordinary incident. There was a complete plan behind it.

Naqvi stressed on action against separatists and said, “Those who accept Pakistan, we will welcome them. We respect them, but those who do not accept the state and take up arms are terrorists and we will deal with them.” Reacting to a statement by another senator, the Home Minister clarified that “no (military) operation is being carried out.”
