The government of Pakistan has banned weddings in Islamabad after 10 pm.
The ban goes into effect today. Geo News reported on Wednesday morning that the ban was being implemented on the instructions of Pakistani Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif.
Sources said that only one type of food will be allowed for the wedding guest and an announcement will be made about the new restriction.
Sources said the Islamabad police and administration have been informed to strictly enforce the ban. Violation will result in disciplinary action by the capital administration.
The announcement was made by Union Information and Broadcasting Minister Mariam Aurangzeb after a meeting of the Union Cabinet on Tuesday.
