Islamabad: Pakistan, which is suffering from an economic crisis, has banned weddings above 10 pm to address the power shortage.
Neighboring Pakistan is suffering from severe power shortages. As power shortages hit the country’s economy, it has been urged to save electricity, reduce power consumption and close government offices on Saturday.
The capital, Islamabad, has banned weddings after 10 pm in a bid to curb excessive electricity consumption. According to a local newspaper, the ban was imposed on the instructions of the Prime Minister.
Accordingly, the Islamabad city police and administration have been ordered to strictly enforce the ban. The city administration will take stern action against those involved in illegal activities. Similarly, only one meal is allowed at a wedding in the capital.
Earlier on Tuesday, Prime Minister Shebaz Sharif said Pakistan had no money to buy fuel, according to another local media outlet, ARY News.
