(24News)Pakistan has strongly criticized the double standards related to fissile material control while demanding global action to reduce nuclear weapons.
Pakistan’s Deputy Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Usman Jadoon, has said that the integration of new emerging technologies with nuclear capabilities is creating more complications for global security, in a statement given at the First Committee’s discussion on nuclear weapons at the United Nations. Osman Jadoun said it is important to eliminate nuclear weapons and recognize the legitimate reasons why states acquire these weapons.
Usman Jadoun said that major military threats, unresolved conflicts, absence of effective security systems and non-compliance with the UN Charter are the factors that make states to adopt nuclear weapons, citing India as an example. Introducing nuclear weapons in Asia, India is not following the UN resolutions regarding Jammu and Kashmir.
