Karachi: Many countries including Britain are using Pakistan as a dumping ground.

Pakistan is the largest importer of environmentally harmful waste from foreign countries. Pakistan imports waste from countries like USA, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Britain, United Arab Emirates, Iran etc. Here, there are recycling plants in Karachi, Lahore, Sialkot, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Gujranwala etc.
They extract gold, copper, aluminum and other metals from the imported waste. In Pakistan alone, 3,000 crore kg of waste is produced annually. Along with this eight crore kg of waste is imported. As a result, Pakistan is becoming an international garbage dump.
90 percent of the waste imported from abroad ends up in the ocean. As a result, the Arabian Sea has become polluted in Pakistan. The underground water is also affected. Environmentalists have warned that if this situation continues, the environment in Pakistan will deteriorate and no one will be able to live.
