Pakistan helped defeat India; Frankly the man of the match was Lungi Ngidi

South Africa dealt a huge blow to India, who entered the ICC T-20 World Cup with the hope of winning their third consecutive match and entering the semi-finals. The Proteas celebrated an authentic victory by five wickets.

The South African pacers took full advantage of the pitch in Perth which helped the pacers. Star pacers Lungi Ngidi and Wayne Parnell literally threw India down.

Wayne Parnell, who took three wickets for 15 runs in four overs, and Lungi Ngidi, who took four wickets for 29 runs in four overs, were crucial in South Africa’s victory.

Ngidi, who threw India’s star batsmen, is the man of the match. KL Ngidi returned Rahul, Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya.

Lungi Ngidi says that it was Pakistan that helped him take Indian wickets and he devised strategies by watching the Pakistani bowlers.

“As a bowler it is not easy at all. This is one of the biggest wins of my career. We have seen what Pakistan has done here. That’s what helped me the most. Markram led the game with the bat. Miller followed him and we won,’ says Ngidi.

Before the India-South Africa match, the Pakistan-Netherlands match was held at the same stadium. In the match, Pakistan defeated the Netherlands by nine wickets for 91 runs. Then they slowly chased it down and won their first World Cup win.

Earlier in the India-South Africa match, Indian captain Rohit Sharma, who won the toss, chose to bat. But Rohit’s decision was wrong. India were reduced to five for 49 with wickets falling in the Powerplay itself.

It was Suryakumar’s one-man performance that took India to a manageable score.

In reply, the Proteas, who batted heavily, won on the strength of David Miller and Aiden Markram’s half-centuries.

After the victory against India, South Africa also went to the top of Group 2. The Proteas have eight points from three matches without losing a single game. India are second with six points with two third wins.
