Islamabad: In view of the protests by Imran Khan’s party Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf in Pakistan, the capital Islamabad has been converted into a container city. Roads have been blocked by placing containers at major intersections, entry points and VVIP areas of Islamabad. Despite this, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur was successful in entering Islamabad with his supporters. After this, a heavy force of Islamabad Police and Rangers reached KP House and arrested CM Ali Amin Gandapur.
Non-bailable arrest warrant issued against Gandapur
A district and sessions court in Islamabad has issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in connection with the seizure of illegal arms and liquor. Judicial Magistrate Mubashir Hussain Zaidi issued the order after he did not appear in the court in connection with the case registered at Barakahu police station in Gandapur. The court directed law enforcement to produce the chief minister by October 12 and adjourned the hearing.
Police arrested several PTI lawyers in Lahore
Police detained several PTI lawyers from Lahore’s GPO Chowk on Saturday. The police also lathicharged the lawyers protesting outside the Lahore High Court. A child is also among those arrested.
Situation out of control in Islamabad
The situation remained tense in Islamabad on Saturday, a day after violent clashes between PTI supporters and police. Meanwhile, PTI decided to continue its protest in Lahore amid blockade and tight security. Life remained disrupted in the capital Islamabad and adjacent Rawalpindi for the second consecutive day. Mobile network services remained suspended in Islamabad and major roads and entry points were still jammed with containers.
Hundreds of PTI workers arrested
On Friday, hundreds of PTI workers, including senior PTI leaders, protested at several places in Islamabad despite heavy police blockade and road blockage. Considering the situation, the police has already imposed Section 144 in Islamabad. Disobeying this, Islamabad Police detained more than 100 PTI members and supporters. During this period, violent clashes took place between the protesters and the police throughout the day, in which stones were thrown and tear gas shells were fired.
