Islamabad: There was a fierce fight between the MLAs and their supporters in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly of Pakistan. During this, both sides kicked and kicked each other fiercely. According to the report, the fight took place between two MLAs and their supporters. In fact, a PTI MLA made serious allegations of corruption against a cabinet minister, which the minister’s supporters could not tolerate.
According to reports, for the last two days, there was a war of words between PTI MLA from South Waziristan Iqbal Wazir and KP CM’s Special Assistant on Relief Affairs Nek Muhammad Dawar over corruption allegations. When a special session of the Assembly was called on Tuesday, the supporters of Nek Muhammad sitting in the Assembly gallery used abusive language for the Wazir and threatened him.
Scuffle between supporters in the assembly
There was a sharp reaction from Wazir’s supporters on this. Supporters of both the MPs were seen scuffling in the assembly hall. The assembly sergeant and security officers tried to escort him out of the hall, but it was beyond the control of the staff. A heated exchange was also seen between the Treasury and the opposition when ANP MLA Nisar Baz raised the issue that he was not being allowed to speak.
The irony is that Wazir was earlier part of PTI and held the same department that Nek Muhammad now holds. “Why are we not being given time to speak,” Baaz said, while all the MPs tried to calm him down and assured him that he would be given time. On this, KP Assembly Speaker Babar Saleem Swati adjourned the session for 10 minutes.
Supporters clashed as soon as the speaker came out
But when the Speaker came out of the hall, PTI-P’s Wazir accused Nek Muhammad and the PTI MLA in South Waziristan of corruption. In response, PTI supporters threatened him in the press gallery. The Wazir tried to move towards them, but was stopped by other members of the provincial assembly. There was a scuffle between supporters of both the MLAs outside the hall.
Speaker summoned the MLAs
According to the report, the conduct of PTI MLAs’ supporters in the House was not “appropriate”. Assembly staff evacuated all the galleries and asked all visitors to leave the hall. The Wazir and the noble Muhammad were also taken to the chamber. When such situations have occurred in the past, the Speaker has attempted to bring about reconciliation between the parties fighting against each other.
