Recently, the President of China has also postponed his visit to Pakistan. At the same time, America has announced economic aid to Pakistan. On this, Pakistani political commentator Qamar Cheema has talked to expert barrister Hamid Bashani.
Talking to Qamar Cheema, Bashani said that the Pakistan government has given people from many countries the opportunity to visit without visa fees. This has been done to increase tourism. However, it will not make any difference on the ground. Bashani said that people who travel to other countries do not look at visa fees. While going to another country, people see what they will get to see in the other country and how the security conditions will be there. Also, they want to see the culture and not just the mountains and fields.
Foreigners do not feel comfortable in Pakistan
Hamid Bashani said that foreigners are not feeling comfortable in Pakistan. Apart from ordinary foreigners, even big leaders are not showing much interest in coming to Pakistan. One reason for this is that political stability does not seem to be coming in Pakistan. On the other hand, Pakistan is also not growing economically. If any market is seen to be developing in Pakistan, then leaders of other countries will start looking eager to come here.
Cheema has said that America has promised to give Pakistan $100 million in aid. America has done this to reduce China’s influence. Bashani said that if there is one thing responsible for the destruction of Pakistan, then it is America’s aid. There is a responsibility in loans or IMF programs, but all the officers and leaders misappropriate this kind of aid. All the money is spent on paper and things go from bad to worse.
