Pakistan parliamentary by-election: Imran Khan to contest in 9 constituencies

When Imran Khan was overthrown in Pakistan, 131 MPs of his Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf resigned from their posts. The Speaker of Parliament has accepted the resignation of 11 of them.

By-elections have been announced for 9 of these 11 constituencies on 25th of next month. 2 blocks are for women.

It has been announced that party leader Imran Khan will contest on behalf of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Party in 9 constituencies. This was confirmed by the party’s vice-president Bawad Chaudhary.

Imran Khan’s announcement that he will contest in 9 constituencies has shocked many people. Commenting on this, political commentators said, “Can’t find a suitable candidate in 9 constituencies?” They questioned that.

It may be recalled that in the 2018 general elections, Imran Khan contested in 5 constituencies and won all of them.

Political party leaders try to prove their popularity by contesting and winning in many constituencies.
