Pakistan PM Imran Khan fined Rs 50,000 for violating election code

Pakistan’s Election Commission has fined Prime Minister Imran Khan Rs 50,000 for violating the code of conduct. Imran addressed the rally ahead of the local elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. On March 15, the Election Commission banned Imran Swat from visiting.

However, it is reported that the Prime Minister went to Swat and addressed the rally. The new election code of conduct stipulates that governors should not visit during elections.

The second phase of local elections in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will be held on March 31. The Election Commission had twice issued notices to Imran for violating the rules.
