Washington: There was a commotion when some unidentified people shouted slogans at Pakistani Finance Minister Ishaq Dhar, who came to the US, calling him a “thief” and a “liar”.
Pakistan is suffering from economic crisis. After this, the country is seeking the help of international organizations. As part of that, the country’s Finance Minister Ishaq Dhar came to America to meet with World Bank and International Monetary Fund executives.
Ishaq Dar arrived at the Washington airport accompanied by aides. At that time, some unidentified people who were there, saw Ishaq Dhar and raised slogans saying “thief and liar” repeatedly.
Then, one of the assistants who came with him hurled obscenities at the protestors. Some of the people there took a picture and posted it on social media.
In one of the videos, someone chants, ‘You are a liar’ at Ishaq Dhar. Instead, the minister looks at him and says loudly that you are a liar.
This is not the first time that Pakistani ministers have been given such a reception. When the country’s Communications Minister Maryam Aurangzeb visited London last month, some people got into an argument.
Likewise, a delegation headed by Prime Minister Shebash Sharif went on a 3-day visit to Saudi Arabia. When they reached Madinah, the people there saw them and chanted “Thief” over and over again. Maryam Aurangzeb was also in that group. Former Prime Minister Imran Khan was blamed for the incident.
