ICC President Craig Barclay has said he hopes all nations will take part in the 2025 Champions Trophy in Pakistan.
The International Cricket Council (ICC) hosts the ICC ODI World Cup, the Twenty20 World Cup and the Champions Trophy. The ICC has recently announced the matches to be played between 2024 and 2031. Pakistan have been offered the chance to host the 2025 ICC Champions Trophy. With this, Pakistan is hosting the biggest match of the ICC after 30 years. Pakistan last hosted the 1996 ODI World Cup with India and Sri Lanka.
In an interview with PTI, ICC President Craig Barclay said, “We are determined to host the 2025 Champions Trophy in Pakistan.
“We are not thinking about whether Pakistan can host the tournament. We hope they can hold it for sure. This is a good opportunity for them. We hope that all countries will support Pakistan. Proper security arrangements will be made and everything will go as planned,” said Craig Barclay.
