The uncertainty is over. Bangladesh is getting Mushtaq Ahmed as spin coach for Pakistan tour in August. BCB did not extend his contract when his contract expired with the T20 World Cup. But Mushtaq was in the discussion as the spinners did well under him. In the end, the legendary leg spinner will work as Bangladesh’s spin coach during the tour of Pakistan.
BCB added Mushtaq in April. The contract was till the T20 World Cup. After the World Cup, news came out that Mushtaq has signed a new contract with the England Under-19 team. Due to this, there is uncertainty about Mushtaq during the Pakistan tour. But after overcoming that uncertainty, Bangladesh is going to Pakistan with Mushtaq. Jalal Yunus, Director of Cricket Board and Chairman of Cricket Management Department confirmed this news.
Jalal Younus in BCB said, ‘Mushtaq Ahmed is available for the Pakistan series. Since he has his own programs ahead, he cannot be in the rest of the series (of the year). He is busy till next December. But we will try to sign a long-term contract with him from January. I am not saying that a deal can be made now. we will try So far so positive. Let’s see what happens next by talking to him.’
Apart from this, Jalal Yunus also informed about the presence of Shakib Al Hasan and Taskin Ahmed on the tour of Pakistan, ‘He (Shakib) is available in the Test.
